Our Mission Statement

The International Order of Job’s Daughters is a premier organization for young women that provides a wholesome environment based on the foundation of high morals, love of country, love of family and friends, and respect for others throughout the world.  It is a living organization dedicated to meeting the needs of young women today and their challenges of tomorrow.  It is a quality organization that fosters a sense of pride in achievement for each and every member as they prepare to become the adult leaders of the future.

Our Meetings

Our meetings are held twice each month on the First Saturday at 10:00 AM, and the Third Friday at 7:00 PM.  Our meetings last 1 ˝ to 2 hours.  Initiation meetings are usually 30 to 45 minutes longer.  Daughters should arrive and be in robe at least 30 minutes prior to our meeting times.  All Daughters are expected to attend every meeting in robe, unless excused by a member of the Executive Guardian Council.

Activities

We are a very active Bethel full of busy girls and a hardworking council of parents.  We usually have an activity following each Saturday meeting, and other activities are scheduled throughout the month.  Our calendar, located on our Home Page, is kept up-to-date with all of our meetings and activities.  Our monthly newsletters are also located on our Home Page.

Community Service and Philanthropic Work

The Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment (HIKE) is the official philanthropic project of the International Order of Job’s Daughters.  The HIKE fund was founded in July 1985 to strengthen voluntary support for hearing-impaired kids.  This includes providing hearing aids and other types of hearing devices to help kids to hear at home, school, church, and while playing sports.  HIKE has helped kids in the Philippines, Australia, Canada and the USA.  Money raised by Job’s Daughters has helped make it possible for HIKE to provide hearing devices for hearing-impaired kids from birth to 20 years of age.

Each year the California Bethels raise money and support another philanthropic project.  This year’s project is the Diabetes Society.  Past projects have included Special Olympics, Shriners Hospitals, Search Dog Foundation, and Project Night Night.

In addition to these official projects, we raise money for scholarships, serve our communities, and work to help those less fortunate.
